SOLUTION FOCUSED WORKSHOPS FOR SCHOOLS

Linda provides both in-person and virtual professional development workshops to school counselors, teachers and administrators. The workshops are interactive, and are focused on skill building, integrating actual case studies and videos that illustrate the solution focused approach. In addition, Linda will plan a unique workshop for your group by talking to you about your best hopes for your school. From there, she will create a presentation to fulfill your needs.

Counseling Toward Solutions

The original workshop about the book, for school counselors, social worker, school psychologists and more.

Learn the basics of the solution focused approach as it directly applies to schools, grades K-12.

This workshop provides interactive exercises, and a means to help participants change their approach to students, parents and teachers in regard to school issues. Many videos of real life case studies are shown that illustrate words to say and steps to use. Participants will practice the approach as it applies to working with individual students, parents, teachers, team meetings and more. Handouts are provided so participants can use the approach the next day! This workshop is tailor made to each school district or school through an initial consultation with Linda who will then create a unique presentation to meet the needs of the school staff.

This is a 6 hour workshop or can be presented as a keynote.

Solution Focused RTI

An innovative approach to providing services that work by focusing on strengths and enlisting the entire system in the process.

The solution focused approach is extremely applicable to MTSS and RTI approaches in schools, K-12, especially since it involves enlisting not only strategies from teachers, but input from the students and parents as well, making it a collaborative, powerful process. This workshop will show your school counselors and faculty how to involve the most important person...the student, in your meetings.Handouts are provided so participants can use the approach the next day! The result is a more efficient way of engaging students and creating more lasting change. Most students who attend the team/RTI/MTSS meetings experience their teachers more positively and that leads to more compliance and follow through. This workshop can also be tailor made to your individual school's needs.

This is a 3 or 6 hour workshop.

The basic program that teaches teachers how to use the solution focused approach with any situation and any student every day

Solution-Focused Narrative Therapy (SFNT)

This new workshop, is based on Linda's new book, Solution Focused Narrative Therapy (Springer Publishing, 2017) and will cover the basic ideas of both models as well as illustrate how to blend the ideas into a model that is rich in dialogue, yet full of action and progress.
